Parin viime
kuukauden aikana on tullut pelattua paljon lautapelejä. Meillä on aktiivinen
asukasneuvosto täällä opiskelija-alueella ja peli-iltakin järjestetään joka
toinen viikko. Tässäpä muutamia kommentteja pelatuista peleistä!
During the
past few months I’ve played a lot of board games. We have an active resident
council here since these are student apartments, and a game night is organized
every other week. So here are some comments of the games I’ve tried!
Salaisuuksien saari
Pelissä
kaikki pelaajat tekevät yhteistyötä saadakseen aarteet pelastettua ennen saaren
uppoamista. Hauska idea kyllä – kaikki vastaan pelilauta - ja toimiva toteutus mutta tarpeeksi monesti
pelattuna ei juuri ole yllätyksiä ja peli alkaa toistaa samaa kaavaa.
All the
players together attempt to rescue treasures from a sinking island. The concept
is fun – all against game board, and the game itself works very well but after
several games it doesn’t offer surprises and starts to repeat the same pattern.
Trivial Pursuit (2011)
Jouluna
pelattiin vähän uudempaa versiota kunnon trivialista. Meidän oma vuoden ’95
genus painos on kyllä edelleen toimiva. Vuoden 2011 kysymykset tuntuivat yllättävän
helpoilta, ja peli eteni huomattavasti nopeammin kuin vanhemmat versiot. Onko
kysymyksiä helpotettu vai olenko vain tullut vanhaksi kun tiedän vastauksia
triviakysymyksiin?
At
Christmas we played a newer edition of Trivial Pursuit. Our own game is the ’95
genus version, and still works. The questions in the 2011 game seemed
surprisingly easy, and the game progressed quicker than the older versions. Are
the questions easier or does this mean that Iäve become old and actually know
the answers to the questions?
Rakkaat naapurit
Tämä peli
löytyi kirpparilta, ja nimen perusteella nappasin sen mukaani ja lahjoitin
kerhohuoneellemme. Tottakai tämännimistä peliä pitääkin pelata rakkaiden
naapureiden kanssa! Pelissä on neljä naapurusta, jotka kilpailevat keskenään
siitä, kenellä on isoin talo, nopein auto, tehokkain vene ja hehkein puoliso.
Jos mukana on viides ja kuudes pelaaja, he ovat automyyjä (joka yrittää myydä
kaikille luksusautojaan) sekä plastiikkakirurgi (joka parantelee kaikkien puolisoja).
Korttien sattumat ovat hauskaa luettavaa ja peli naurattaa hassuudessaan. Ihan
jees!
This game
is from a flea market, and I decided to donate it to the club room because of
the name (beloved neighbors). Of course this game needs to be played with dear
neighbors! There are four neighbors in the game, and they compete against each
other by upgrading their house, car, boat, and spouse. If there is a fifth and a
sixth player, they are the car dealer (trying to sell all his/her luxurious
cars) and plastic surgeon (trying to enhance the appearance of everyone’s
spouses). The chance cards in the game are hilarious. Overall a fun game that
makes you laugh!
Carcassonne
Tällä
kertaa pelattiin vain peruspeliä, ei ollut edes jokea mukana. Minulla on kyllä
neljä lisäosaakin, mutta vain paria niistä tulee pelattua, Torni-peliä en taida
edes osata liittää peliin. Ihan mukava, vaikka ehkä jo puuduttaa pelata vain
peruspeliä. Pitäisi kerätä porukka, jonka kanssa opetella hyödyntämään
lisäosia!
This time
we played only with the base game, even the river wasn’t in this version. I have
four expansions, but they are seldom used; I’m not even sure I know the rules
od the Tower expansion. The game is alright, even though it can be boring to
play with only the base game. I should probably just gather a group willing to
learn all the expansion rules and play a long game!
Scrabble
No tämä on
klassikkopeli. Koska meillä ei ole scrabblea omana, siihen ei ehkä siksi
kyllästy. Sanoja on hauska pyöritellä ja pidän kaikenlaisista sanapeleistä ja –leikeistä.
Now this is
a classic. Since we don’t own scrabble, that must be the reason I’m not bored
with this game. I love twisting words and creating different combinations with
the letters.
Afrikan tähti
Toinen
klassikko! Aina yhtä viihdyttävä suomalainen peli.
Another
classic! Always a pleasant Finnish game.
Muumipeli
Tämä on
vähän niinkuin Afrikan tähti. Muumimamma on hukannut omaisuuttaan pitkin
muumilaaksoa, ja se joka ensimmäisenä palauttaa hillokellarin avaimen sekä
jotain muuta rojua voittaa pelin. Sattumakortit ovat hauskoja ja peli on
viihdyttävä.
This is
sort of like the Afrikan tähti –game. Moominmamma has lost all kinds of stuff
around the Moominvalley. The player who first returns the key to the jam cellar
and some other stuff wins the game. The chance cards are fun and the game is
entertaining.
Outta control
Amerikkalainen
ysäripeli viihdyttää edelleen. Tässä pelissä on paljon vaihtuvia sääntöjä,
joita rikottuaan saa lisää nappuloita, joista tulisi päästä eroon. Välillä ei
saa nousta seisomaan, välillä sanoa jotain tiettyä sanaa. Vaikuttaa vähän
juomapeliltä, eikö? :D
An American
90s game entertains. In this game there are a lot of changing rules that you
have to obey. If you fail to follow the rules you’ll acquire more chips of
which you should try to get rid of. Resembles a drinking game, right? :D
Timeline
Tämä peli on historiafriikille omiaan. Pelaajien tulee
järjestää pöydälle aikajanaan erilaisia historian tapahtumia ja siten päästä
eroon korteistaan. Kortteja on todella paljon, joten ihan heti ei opi
muistamaan mikä tapahtuma ajoittuu mihinkin! Todella kiva peli mielestäni.
This game
it optimal for those interested in history. The players must organize various
historical events on a timeline on the table and thus get rid of their cards.
There are so many cards in the game that you won’t easily remember where each
event is located on the timeline. I really like this game!
Menolippu Eurooppa (Ticket to Ride Europe)
Eurooppaversio ei ole itselleni niin tuttu kuin Amerikka,
ehkä siksi hävisinkin tämän pelin reippaasti. Euroopassa pelin lopputulos ei
ole niin selkeä kuin Amerikassa, missä pitkillä, reunoja myötäilevillä
reiteillä voittaa melko varmasti. Euroopassa on liikaa muuttujia (tunnelit,
laivareitit, asemat)! Pidän ”junapelistä” kuitenkin paljon, oli versio mikä
hyvänsä. Pitäisi pitkästä
aikaa pelata pohjoismaaversiotakin.
The
Europe-version is not as familiar to me as the American version, and maybe this
is why I lost this game. In Europe, the outcome of the game is not as
straightforwards as in the America-version, where you can nearly every time win
the game with the long lines going at the top of the board. In Europe there are
so many different things that affect the outcome (tunnels, ferries, stations)! Ticket
to Ride is one of my favorite games, whatever the version is. Maybe I should
play the Nordic countries –version for a change.
Eldritch Horror
No olipahan pelisessio! Kuusi pelaajaa, baariympäristö,
useita jaettuja viinipulloja, kuusi ja puoli tuntia pelaamista… ja häviö.
Mielenkiintoinen ja kummallinen peli, joka on taidokkaasti tehty. En silti ihan
päässyt kärryille mitä tapahtui milloinkin mutta perusajatuksen kyllä tajusi.
Pelaisin kyllä uudestaankin!
What a
game! Six players, bar surroundings, several shared wine bottles, six and a
half hours of playing… and loss. A very interesting and weird game, which is
skillfully executed. I still didn’t quite grasp all the moves and events but I
think I got the basic hang of the game. I would definitely try this one again!
